In which my brain explodes thinking about how many things I have to do.

Hello everyone. It has come to my attention (through an annoying person who apparently often checks my blog for new posts) that I haven't blogged in a week. SEE?! This is me blogging.

I have survived the journey from Mexico back home. In case you guys were wondering.

I am also suddenly busy. It would seem that Romeo and Juliet is running at us. The performances are in less than three weeks. Good golly.

My brain is exploding with homework and reading all these books and blogs (good golly I'm so far behind).

I also have to make dinner tonight! I'm making chicken fried rice and it is delicious. I was supposed to make it in Mexico, but I got hit in the face with a frisbee. It hurt. A lot. I've still got the remnants of a bruise, but it's mostly gone. :D

I didn't have school today and tomorrow I don't have to go in until noon and eleven the next day. It was pretty boss.

I finished the book A Kiss in Time by Alex Flinn. Alex Flinn, if you didn't know is the author of Beastly, which I read a few years ago and now the movie's coming out and Friday and I'm really excited because I loved that book and the Olsen twin that's in the movie looks fabulous. Also Neil Patrick Harris. He's in this movie. He's Kyle's blind tutor. He's awesome and I want to steal him and keep him in my closet he's so amazing.

Back to A Kiss in Time. It was horrible. It read kinda like it was meant for a ten year old but the content wasn't stuff you'd read at ten. Jell-o shots, almost rape, kissing passed out chicks, y'know. The stuff you want your fifth grader reading. It was a good story, just written horribly. Beastly was better. Why was it written horribly? The last sentence of every chapter was just SO STUPID. For example...
  • I am free—at least for an hour!
  • My last thought as I hit the ground is, I should have listened to Lady Brooke.
  • "Woah!"
  • And that's when she screams.
  • I should have stayed with the tour!
  • Certainly not my father.
  • Then I hear a scream.
  • And then everything goes black.
  • Then everything goes from black to blacker.
  • The room is empty.
  • In the still, black nothingness, I return to sleep.
  • No chance but Jack.
  • Where is Jack?
Just about every chapter ends with a once sentence paragraph. Also an exclamation mark. It's horrible and sounds like a little kid's book. Also the name sounds like a trashy romance novel.

I must go make my dinner and be fabulous and dance around. I'll blog again eventually.

This is when I realize that senior year will be full of this.

Last night I submitted an application to this fabulous liberal arts academy. I entered a contest last year for a thirty thousand dollar scholarship for my writing. I was like 'eh, it's never going to happen, but it'll be fun to just try it out'.

I got an email mid-January telling me 'OH GOLLY YOU NEED TO START PANIC ATTACKING BECAUSE WE'RE GOING TO MAKE YOUR LIFE STRESSFUL AND HAHAHA.' Actually it said that I was a finalist for the thing. It was good at first because it was all YAY HAPPINESS. But then they were all 'we recommend that you come and visit our campus which is a four and a half hour drive from where you live. We also want you to fill out an application to see if you're eligible and that costs a lot of money so HAHAHA. And you need to have it all done in a month.'

So I have been very freaky-outy this last month and there's been finals and a new semester. But I have amazing classes that are amazing (I think that's a given, right?) even though I have epic amounts of homework now.

And I have come to realized that in less than two years, I'll be doing this all over again. Times like, a gazillion. This most definitely gives me hope for my mental stability in the future.

But enough about angst, I need to do an interesting blog post.

I have recently forced my grandmother to read the Uglies trilogy by THE best author out there, Scott Westerfeld. She loves it and is currently on Extras. Next up for her? The Hunger Games. If I can find my copy. I do believe it was stolen by one of my friends and I can't remember to save my life who.

I will finish this post off with some of my favorite words that are known to me in the English language. That I can think of right now, at least.

  • Synergy
  • Advesperate
  • Paradox
  • Mystery
  • Squish
  • Fish
  • Omniscient
  • Octopus
  • Shine
  • Chrome
  • Recycle
  • Fabulous
  • Terrific
  • Vacuum
  • Crotchety
  • Word
  • Widdershins
  • Reality
  • Magenta
  • Bliss
  • Cataclysm
  • Neat
  • Dandy
  • Dictionary
  • Barcoded
  • Bewitch
  • Ergo
And those are all the ones I can think of right now at this very moment. I'm sure there are more. I really love words that sound like their meaning. Y'know?

O, then I see Queen Mab hath been with you.

So I'm trying out for Romeo and Juliet tomorrow after school. Not good. I don't have my monologue completely memorized. I was only reminded of my audition by my friend-person, Etsie (also known as the person who cut my hair) when she typed out her monologue on her blog.

So I do believe I'm going to do the same as her to try and memorize it. I've got most of it down, just a bit of word order.

I'm pretty sure I mostly want to be Mercutio. I'm doing the Queen Mab monologue. In my opinion, it's easily the best thing ever written. That doesn't mean that I know what it means. And we have to know what it means. This is a cut-down version of it, because we only have to do twenty lines at the most.

Ready. Set. Go.

O, then I see Queen Mab hath been with you.
She is the faerie's midwife and she comes
In shape no bigger than an agate stone
Drawn with a team of little Atomies
Over men's noses as they lie asleep.
Her chariot is an empty hazelnut,
And in the state she gallops night by night
Through lovers' brains and then they dream of love;
O'er courtier's knees, that dream on curtsies straight;
O'er lawyer's fingers, who straight dream on fees'
O'er ladies' lips, who straight on kisses dream,
Sometimes she driveth o'er a soldier's neck,
And then dreams he of cutting foreign throats
Drums in his ear, at which he starts and wakes,
And thus being frightened swears a prayer or two,
And sleeps again.
This is the hag, when maid lie on their backs,
That presses them and learns them first to bear,
Making them women of good carriage.
This is she

I have to admit that after the soldier's neck part, I kept glancing down at the sheet. I don't think I've got this. Well, I've got lunch tomorrow and time after school to practice. Hopefully my friends will put up with me.

I think I need to type it out one more time. Maybe not with all the capitalization and punctuation being perfect, though. Because I totally went back and made sure it was all good.

Golly, that one was more from memory than the first time. I was thinking about doing it again, but my hands hurt and it's past midnight and I think I need to do other homework.

I'll start on my lists of favorites soon.

Little Shop o' Horrors!

My school did Little Shop and I went to see it today and it was really amazing and stuff.

And I was going to blog about something really amazing that I can't remember, but I just realized the piles of homework that I have and I should probably try and get that done.

So I think everyone will have to like, eat a bacon or something, because I won't be blogging until Tuesday, at the least.

School year resolutions are for people who want to feel accomplished.

So every year I seem to have the same set of school year resolutions that I break in the first day. Or something. Here's my list of what I can remember. I usually end up adding on to it on the first day.

I always promise myself that I will....

  • Do my homework.
  • Try and join clubs/afterschool things.
  • Make new friend peoples.
  • Do my homework.
  • Get good grades.
  • Make a good impression on my new teachers.
  • Do my homework.
  • Try and give a good effort to participate in class.
  • Be a good student.
  • Do my homework.
  • Get rid of my bad habit of staying up too late on school nights.
I think that's all I can think of.

I usually break all of those on the first day, so I don't know why I keep trying. And for some reason, my brain has been telling me recently that this year I should really try with my homework. I do it sometimes. Most of the time. I just don't put much effort in.

My entire week up until school starts (technically it's a week from today, actually) is completely booked. Babysitting, friends, babysitting, friends, my grandma's birthday, etc. So I am trying to figure out how I'm going to get everything I want done this summer done in the next week.

In other news, it's been a week since Mockingjay came out and I am probably even more disturbed after a week of letting it sink in.

I've become really lazy with this blog recently. I haven't done anything interesting. I'll do it later. Like... tomorrow. I will spend all night tomorrow working on it rather than listening to Defying Gravity a billion times mixed in with A Very Potter Musical. I will do something extremely interesting tomorrow. I have yet to figure out what.  I also really want to see Wicked recently.
