Okay, so I just finished the book Across the Universe by Beth Revis. I saw on some other blogs recommendations for it and I got it and I totally couldn't put it down. I should be packing right now (ROAD TRIP) but I haven't blogged in a while, so I decided so do this instead. Don't y'alls love me?
This book is dystopian, which implies sci-fi, but it seems more sci-fi than most dytopian books and it's also a mystery and slightly romancey. But not really.
I am going to try and give a summary (WITHOUT SPOILERS!) in three sentences. Wish me luck.
Main chick (Amy) gets cyrogenicly(sp?) frozen to go to Centauri-Earth (a new planet that Earth discovered) because it takes 300 years to get there and her parents (being fabulous (military and scientist people) were chosen to go along and she was brought along. She is unfrozen in an attempt at murder and meets love interest (Elder), a leader (Eldest) in training because people live on the ship, keeping people alive to wake up frozens (they create new technologies and make sure the ship's running smoothly too). Together, main chick and love interest uncover the secrets of the ship and discover that love interest has been living a lie and together, they try and figure out who's killing the frozen people and why.
That counts as three sentences, right? RIGHT?
It totally does.
This book has officially gone to the top (ish) of my favorite books. The current order of favorite books (trilogies too) are Uglies, Hunger Games and then ACROSS THE UNIVERSE.
So I would like to say that it's a good part if you're good at not imagining things. If you are, prepare to be a little freaked out. The first chapter alone made me want to put the book down and never read it again because it described (in detail) the process of freezing people. And it's freaky.
There were a lot of things I definitely wasn't expecting thrown in. I'm not saying that they were thrown in randomly. They had crucial plotness to them and I totally wasn't expecting it.
CHARACTERS!
Main chick/Amy—She's kinda annoying, daddy's girl, but overall, a pretty strong protagonist. She's really angsty, but she has reason to... to a point.
Love interest/Elder—He's cool. He's the rebellious teenager in the line for ruling over the people. And he's a slight liar.
Kinda-semi-antagonist/Eldest—He's mean and stuff. But yet again, he has reason to. He's fifty-six and has been in charge for a gazillion years (since he was twenty, I think) and he knows the horrid (really horrid) deep dark secrets of the ship and he keeps them away from everyone and he comes across this way until the very end. When something mostly unexpected happens.
I don't really think there are any other MAIN characters other than Elder's best friend whose name I can't remember, though I finished the book just a few hours ago.
This is definitely one of those books that like, sticks in your head and you just want to make everyone read it.
Many stars, everyone read it. Now.

Eye candy!
So there's this blogfest that looks really fabulous. And I decided, hey, it would be fun and I could get away with using this as my post for the day.
I hope that it's okay if I post it technically a little after when it's supposed to be done.
Also, I hope it doesn't violate the rules to do several pictures. Because I have some in many different things. Let's just pretend that last sentence made sense.
So this year, for NaNo, I wrote my novel and I totally won. This is the screenshot I took after running around my house screaming for several minutes. This screenshot is my pride and joy. If it gets deleted or anything, now I will know that it is safe on the internet, right here on my trusty ol' blog.
So this is something fabulous I found somewhere on the internet. It makes me really happy and that's really all I have to say about it.
I hope this one isn't cut off because it's wide. But it's really cool. I found it on a website on stumbleupon and I would totally link to it if I remembered what it was. They pretty much took little kid's drawings and set them up how they would look in real life and took pictures. This one was my favorite of the twenty or so.
This one is something that makes me laugh until I die. I play soccer and it's hilarious and amazing and makes me giggle and I show it to all of my friends all the time and I'm sure they're so pissed at me, but whatever I love it so much.
Who doesn't love Hello Kitty? Especially when it's a real kitty that looks like her.
I had to include a demotivator. It's so adorable. I want this picture to have my cakes. It's pretty fab.
This is the DEATH MELON. The Death Melon is the most amazing thing ever. I've had it on my computer for probably two years. I've deleted so many pictures, but this one I've kept. Just because it's so amazing.
Okay, this used to be my desktop for ages and I know you can't see it on here, but if you click on it, it will be pretty. It's basically a map if the land was water and the water was land. Which is like, pretty freaking awesome.
This is my favorite fat unicorn in the world. You know, it may be the only fat unicorn in the world. But I think that this is beautiful and hope that more will flood the internet soon.
I decided to end this eye candy thing on a beautiful giant chunk of eye candy. This is BILL KAULITZ. He sings in Tokio Hotel and is easily the sexiest thing ever. I want his hair.
That is all I've got and I would like to say that I didn't mean to steal any pictures if I did.
That is all.
I hope that it's okay if I post it technically a little after when it's supposed to be done.

I have a hole in my sock.
It's right on my big toe, on my left foot. It's not even at the bottom, it's on the top and part of my nail is showing. It's really been bothering my all night, but I'm too lazy to find a sock without a hole, much less find one more or less the same size as the other one.
You see, all the socks that I have that are clean and I can find are either knee-highs or have holes or are too small because I used to wear them when I was little and I've never given them away or anything.
I like socks a lot. I really like to mismatch socks because if you have two pairs of really cool ones, you can just wear one of each and then it's like BAM. I HAVE THE SUPERPOWERS OF TWO DIFFERENT SOCKS. But it's really weird when you wear one ankle sock and one knee-high and then it's all squeezy on one knee and then the other isn't and it feels weird.
If that made any sense.
I have Halloween socks, I have beach socks, I have Valentine's day socks, I have socks that say 'when pigs fly', I have slipper-socks, I have rainbow socks, I have sparkly socks, I have rainbow sparkly socks, I have fuzzy socks, I have socks with holes in them, I have Wii Fit socks, I have tie-dyed socks, I have socks with little grippies, I have argyle socks, I have polka spotted socks, and a billion more kinds.
What I don't have is pain colored socks. Except white ones, which I usually wear as a last resort. I think that boring socks are boring and if you wear them, you should go die in a bucket.
I think everyone should go to THIS LINK and listen to Dan Rad (Daniel Radcliffe) sing THE ELEMENTS SONG BY TOM LEHRER. It's easily one of the sexiest things ever.
Two hours pass.
And for the past half hour, I've been trying to figure out what exactly makes a midwestern accent. And it's weird. I think I'll do a separate post on that. Maybe tomorrow if I can remember.

DEATH!ly Hallows. (Part One)
So I would hope that everyone went to go see the newest installment of Harry Potter in theater in the last week or so.
I thought it was reallly sexy and everything. Except that they totally decided to ship Harry and Hermione.
Also, there was a lot of Dan Rad without his shirt. Imagine that picture, but like.... for like... ten minutes of the whole movie. It was really weird. I think they just enjoy awkwardness. I would just like to say that Dan Rad is not that attractive of a person.
The Three Brothers animation thing was GODLY. It made me die on the inside.
I suddenly regret putting that picture of Dan Rad on here. It's gross.
Let's see if I can find a better picture. I FOUND ONE. EXAMPLE OF THE SHIPPING. They were totally dancing together and they were dancing realllllllllllllllllllllly weirdly.
Also, if you don't know what shipping is, like my mother, please refer to this link.
Also, if you are too lazy to click on that link and see the sexiness of TVTropes, shipping is basically pairing characters together in your brain (example—Ron/Harry is a ship). Canon is when it happens for realsies (example—Dumbledore/Snape. Except not really it only happens in my brain. A real example is Hermione/Ron.)
So now you have been educated on the weirdness of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part One).
I shall go and write my novel now if my fingers will let me. It seems as if I've been developing some kind of PAINNNN in my fingers after I type for two hours. But it's worth it because I can get up to 4,500 words out of two hours.
I am currently at just above 40,000 (I need to be at 50,000). So that means that I have today and the next three days (two of which I have school) to write 10,000 more. I hope to knock out at least 4,000 tonight. Hope I don't die of... finger twitching?

Jelly, Pickles, Renaldo, Grover and Winnifred.
So I'm totally writing this play for this workshop with a friend person named Susan. It's a mini play, but it's still pretty epic. Since I'm lazy and I want to pass out soon (GOLLY, IT'S SO EARLY, HALP ME) I'm going to copy/paste the epic storyboard.
First, I'd like to introduce our five main characters.

Winnifred—Fabulous unicorn who has a birthday on the day that the play focuses on.
Renaldo—A BANISHED Prince thing. He's super cool and I'm going to try and convince Susan to have him wear an eye patch. Imagine that picture to the left but pink and on a guy. :D
Pickles—A (hopefully) PURPLE woodpecker who pecks Winnifred's head and starts everything off. Look at that picture to the right and imagine the black and orange parts PURPLE.
Grover—A hobo who becomes Renaldo's best friend. I'm not posting a picture because when I google imaged 'hobo' a picture of a really big spider popped up. So I'm not searching anything like that again.

Jelly—A sunflower who can walk and talk and stuff. She becomes Winnifred's best friend and stuff.
Okky, here's the epic storyboard (As of five minutes ago. It's subject to change.).
I'm way too tired to post anything else. Good golly, it's only a little past ten. I think I'll go eat and sleep now. GOODBYE, WORLD.

- Winnifred and Renaldo talking, partying, etc. Pickles enters stage BLANK and pecks W's head. P exits stage OPPOSITE.
- She's got a major headache so they stop and R searches for the nearest town for food, etc.
- R meets Grover(I'm having second thoughts about his name. Maybe we should change it.) and is considering mugging him, but G helps him steal stuff.
- They become BESTEST FRANDS.
- R+G go back to where W is resting, munching on food on the way there.
- W freaks out the R+G are such great friends and by this time, she's all better, so she gets pissed and runs off to be emo in a meadow.
- W is in meadow, crying (mini-monologue for her?) when Jelly enters stage BLANK.
- J asks what's wrong, W explains and mentions that her birthday is today and that R forgot. They talk for a little bit, and they become best friends as well.
- J+W go to yell at R(and G) for being such BUTTS and for R forgetting her birthday.
- When the find R+G they see them with party hats and a cake for W. They yell 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' and all is forgiven.
- They ALL become best friends over cake and ride off into the sunset on W's back.
I'm way too tired to post anything else. Good golly, it's only a little past ten. I think I'll go eat and sleep now. GOODBYE, WORLD.
